AR in the National Museum
The National Museum in Prague brings one of its most iconic exhibits back to life.

design problem
The project needed to be completely markerless and reliable for it to be easily accessible and enjoyable for both children and adults, as well as aesthetically pleasing.
solution
We created a 3D scan of the entire room and used the Augg.io framework to reliably solve marker-less localization in the digital copy. This allowed our artists to fully focus on accurately recreating the digital Fin Whale, a beautiful water effect on the ceiling, and other aquatic life.
Like magic, just as it should be.
This impressive 23m long fin whale skeleton has been a dominant feature of the National Museum in Prague for over 130 years and has been present in the building since the beginning. Because of this, the result had to be perfect.
The final AR application was integrated into the new native application of the National Museum, which also serves as a digital guide.
