The Brief
Make a whole tour group feel a gun that was never installed.
At the Tvrz Hanička fortress in the Orlické Hory, an artillery bunker stands empty — the guns the Munich Agreement left unbuilt. The museum wanted visitors to feel the weapon that should have stood there.
Phone AR couldn’t carry it. This had to be shared: something a guide and a whole room live through together, at a scale and volume only a real projection delivers.
The Approach
A life-size hologram you switch on and fire.
We rebuilt the Škoda 10cm vz.38 howitzer — one of three meant to hold the line — as a rear-projection hologram driven by a PS5 controller. Switch it on and the room changes: a war soundscape rises, the lights drop, the projection ignites. The guide explains the machine, then lets visitors fire it.
To make the scale real, we printed a rectified orthophoto from historical aerial photographs, showing the nearly 12 km the gun could reach.
The Impact
A shared moment no headset can give.
Visitors don’t hold up a phone — they stand together as the bunker comes alive, a collective experience only a true-scale projection can create.
